 | Outreach Project Spotlight | | | Wishgranters-Where Wishes Really Do Come True! I wish to go, I wish to meet, I wish to be, I wish to have - Who says wishes do not come true? The Make-a-Wish Foundation of North Texas and the Junior League of Plano joined together in 2004 to form a partnership where trained JLP members act as a liaison between the MAW Foundation and families in Collin County. In teams of two, trained members visit with the family to find out the one true wish of the child and let their imagination and creativity play when it comes to enhancing the wish. This wish could include a party at a waterpark, a nice dinner at a restaurant, or a red carpet while exiting a limo. There are currently nine JLP women who bring magic to 20 Collin County kids with life threatening illnesses. The idea is to fulfill the one true wish of the wishchild and bring some sunshine to their days of treatments and hospital stays, and to bring the family together for some happy times. While the child makes the wish, family and friends get to participate in making it an unforgettable experience.
