JUNIOR LEAGUE OF PLANO SEEKS MODELS FOR AMERICAN GIRL FASHION SHOW®

All Proceeds from this Annual Fundraiser Benefit the Charitable Projects and Programs of the Junior League of Plano

Lights! Cameras!  Action!  The Junior League of Plano is looking for young stars from 1st through 5th grade to model in the annual American Girl Fashion Show®.   Applicants of all ethnicities are encouraged to apply, but their clothing size must be either 6X or 10.  The American Girl Fashion Show® will be held the weekend of October 23 and 24, 2010.

Each model will be dressed in one of the American Girl fashions.  Applications can be obtained at www.jlplano.org , the American Girl store, or email americangirlfashionshow@jlplano.org.

A $15 application fee is required for participating models. The deadline for applications is July 23, 2010.  A five minute interview will be scheduled at the American Girl store to meet and chat with each lovely applicant.

The Junior League of Plano is also accepting applications for teenage girls (ages 15-17) who will act as narrators to the fashion shows.  Acting or public speaking experience is encouraged!  No fee is required for this application, but a small interview will be conducted.

Each doll of the American Girl line celebrates girls in all that they can be - for who girls are today and who they can become tomorrow.  The historical characters inhabit stories set during important times in America such as Addy, a post civil war African-American doll, or Josefina, a New Mexican doll from 1824.  The contemporary dolls such as the blond- haired and green- eyed Lanie take on different personalities and strengths.  The Junior League of Plano is proud to share this vision with the young women of Collin County.

“We are so excited to have a new venue this year at the Heard-Craig Center for the Arts, an elegant facility in downtown McKinney, Texas.  We want to branch out to all parts of Collin County that the Junior League of Plano serves,” said Leslie Guinn, chair of the American Girl Fashion Show®.

Valuable community programs are supported through several Junior League of Plano fundraisers such as the American Girl Fashion Show®.   Proceeds earned through this event are given back to the community through the projects and programs of the Junior League of Plano.  The Junior League of Plano is committed to improving life in Collin County by developing leaders, building positive relationships, and making an impact through effective community projects.
